Jane Smith Gandy

After a short illness, Jane Gandy, 78, died on Thursday, April 25, 2024. Born in Waycross, Georgia on March 16, 1946, to Willy and Sadie Smith.

Jane was married in 1966 to her husband Vernon for over 57 years. She retired from United Community Bank in 2010
.
She was an active member of White Bluff Methodist Church for over 40 years and was an active member of Abigail Circle.

Jane loved to sew, entertain family and friends, loved the summertime, spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed watching the Bulldogs play.

She was the best wife and mama, also was an amazing baker and cook. Jane volunteered at the front desk at Candler Hospital until Covid.

Jane is survived by: her husband, Vernon; a daughter, Dale (Mike); a son, Sean; three granddaughters, Emily (Will), Shelby and Grace; great-grandson, Waylon; brother, Johnny (Choe); sister, Debra (Melvin); several special nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends 12 o’clock – 1 o’clock Monday afternoon at Gamble Funeral Service, 410 Stephenson Ave., Savannah.

Jane’s funeral service will follow at 1 o’clock Monday afternoon in the funeral home chapel, Reverend Dr. Barry Giddens presiding.

Burial will follow in Hillcrest Abbey East Cemetery, Savannah.
