Jane Solomons Furchgott, 89, of Savannah, Georgia and widow of Charles Max Furchgott, Sr., died Sunday evening, July 23, 2017, at Memorial University Medical Center. She and her husband met at the University of Georgia and at the time of his death in 1988 had been married for 42 years.
Born in Savannah, Georgia on July 27, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Joseph M. Solomons and the late Sue Rosolio Solomons Aronstam. Mrs. Furchgott was a lifelong member of Congregation Mickve Israel. She was an interior designer with her family business, Rosolio's.
Surviving are one daughter, Connie Furchgott Solmson and her husband, William, of Memphis, Tennessee; one son, Charles Max Furchgott, Jr. and his wife, Lynda McGee Furchgott, of Savannah, Georgia; one grandson, Charles Coursey; four great-grandchildren, Layton Coursey, Jacob Coursey, Caleb Coursey and Caden Coursey, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Thursday morning at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by Rabbi Robert W. Haas. A Celebration of Life will be held at 12 noon Thursday at Congregation Mickve Israel.
