James Byron Tucker, 91, of Claxton, Georgia and husband of Lucille Griffin Tucker, died Sunday morning, October 12, 2014, at his home.
Born January 29, 1923 in Evans County, Georgia, he was a son of the late Frank Tucker and the late Lillie Sikes Tucker.?? Mr. Tucker was a member of Sikes Chapel United Methodist Church. He was the former owner and operator of Tucker's Service Station and worked for more than 20 years at Rosier Ford in Statesboro.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Frann Tucker Lance, and two brothers, Berman Tucker and Larry Spence.
Surviving are his wife of seventy-one years, Lucille Griffin Tucker; his son-in-law, Roland E. Lance of Savannah; his sister, Bonnie Price of Savannah; his brother, Bobby Tucker and his wife, Carolyn, of Savannah; his sister-in-law, Sarah Spence, of Claxton, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Tuesday at the graveside, Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, conducted by The Reverend Dr. Samuel W. Watkins.
