James Edward 'Jim' Tillman, 73, of Savannah, Georgia and husband of Catherine 'Cathy' Hagins Tillman, died Thursday evening, September 29, 2016, at his home.



Born in Savannah, Georgia, he was a son of the late Walter Lee Tillman and the late Johnnie Esther Stafford Tillman. Jim was an active member of Kirk O' The Isles Presbyterian Church (PCA). He worked for Pepsi for 17 years and then retired from Coca Cola Bottling as the Fountain Service Manager after 17 years. During his years with Pepsi and Coca Cola, Jim especially enjoyed working with and being a part of the Jack Waddell family. He enjoyed woodworking, photography, camping, fishing and crabbing.



In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry L. Tillman.



Surviving are his wife, Catherine 'Cathy' Hagins Harper Tillman; three children, Joyce 'Joy' Tillman Ramsey of Hickory, North Carolina, Elizabeth Michelle Harper (Dr. Brett Larson) of Savannah, Georgia, and Michael Lee Hagins Harper (Samantha) of Acworth, Georgia; five grandchildren, Adam Kyle Ramsey, Chase Lee Ramsey, Sydney Paige DeRoia, Ellany Ellison and Oliver Harper; two sisters, Jeanette Tillman Phillips of Fleming, Georgia and Harriett Strickland Tillman of Ponte Vedra, Florida, and a number of nieces and nephews. Jim also leaves behind many friends, including The Reverend Elmer and Faye Walker, John and Martha Smith, Ernest and Harriet Lynch, Joel Gladdin and Joanne Gladdin Counts, Edna Waddell and The Reverend Dr. Neil Stewart and family.



The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.



The funeral service will be held at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by Pastor Peter J. Whitney and The Reverend Elmer N. Walker. Interment will be private.
