James 'Jimmy' Carl Sorenson, 70, of Savannah, Georgia, died Tuesday evening, August 7, 2018, at Candler Hospital.
Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, he was a son of the late Vernon Carl Sorenson and the late Gladys Carolyn Lindquist Sorenson. Jimmy was a United States Marine Corps veteran. He worked for many years with Pomp's Tire Service in Wisconsin. Jimmy loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Mildred Olson, Donna Syveck and Shirley Slawinski, and two brothers, Philip Sorenson and Emmanuel Pasholk.
Surviving are two daughters, Shannon M. Sorenson and Heidi M. Sorenson, both of Savannah; four grandchildren, Shayna Pamanet, Al-Malik Simmons, Dakhari Simmons and Xavier Simmons; three great-grandchildren, Raenasia Pamanet-Scott, Amir Pamanet-Scott and Zaevion Pamanet-Scott; one sister, Ruth Nepp; four brothers, Ronald Pasholk, Vernon Sorenson, Joseph Sorenson and Edward Sorenson, and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service, with military honors, will be held at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon at the graveside, Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Glennville, Georgia.
