James David 'Super Dave' Mixon, Sr., 60, of Savannah, Georgia, died Wednesday evening, November 14, 2018, at Memorial University Medical Center.
Born in Hartford, Connecticut, he was a son of Estelle Blalock Mixon and the late SGM Arthur Edgar Mixon, Sr., United States Army (Ret.). David was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He owned and operated Islands Pools and Spas. David enjoyed camping, spending time at the beach, poker night. Most importantly he enjoyed time spent with his family.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Deborah 'Debbie' Ann Mixon Taylor Dobbins; his maternal grandmother, Mabel Boswell Blalock, and his former wife, Angela Lee O'Brien.
Survivors include two daughters, Shannon Baker and her husband, Lance, and Christi Bathe and her husband Brian; one son, James 'Jamie' David Mixon, Jr. and his wife Kyndal; his mother, Estelle Blalock Mixon; nine grandchildren, Alexis Gibbons and her husband Josh, Brooke Davis, Cayla Davis, Victor Tillman, Hailey Mixon, Landin Baker, Dyllanger Bathe, Laurel Baker and Riley Mixon; three great-grandchildren, Brennan Gibbons, JennaBelle Stone and Macie Gibbons; one brother, Arthur E. Mixon, Jr.; three sisters, Liz Mixon Wilson and her husband Donald, Cathy Mixon Waters and her husband David, and Sandy Mixon Luther and her husband Alan, and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 Saturday at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Douglas M. Cone. Interment will be in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
