James 'Jim' Anthony Koda, 80, of Savannah, Georgia and husband of Maryann Tronolone Cela, passed away Tuesday morning, May 24, 2022, at his home.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, Jim graduated North Miami High School June 5, 1959 and attended the University of Florida. He was in the Marine Corp. He worked for many years in the airline industry as a logistics manager for initially Eastern Airlines and then Continental Airlines. His hobbies included gardening, fixing and restoring cars, working on model planes, boats and cars, attending car shows and jazz concerts and fixing anything that was broken. He was a generous and kind man who went out of his way to help others.
Jim was preceded in death by his first wife, Sandra Jean Holt Koda, his parents, Constantine (Chris) and Jean Koda and his son, David Koda.
Survivors include his wife, Maryann Tronolone Cela; daughter, Linda J. Winders, M. D. and her husband, Kevin Winders, M. D., of Savannah, Georgia; daughter, Debra Simone and her husband, Emmanuel Simone, Jr, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; son, Scott Jaehne and his wife, Jeanine Jaehne, of Houston, Texas, and his grandchildren, Benjamin Winders, Elizabeth Winders, Matthew Winders, Gary Koda, Emmanuel Simone III, Desiree Simone and Jessica Simone, Andrew Jaehne and Eric Jaehne.
The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon, June 10, 2022, in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue, conducted by the Reverend Dr. Craig Stephans.
