James Edwin Brown, Sr., 71, of Thunderbolt, Georgia and husband of Linda Zipperer Brown, died Monday evening, June 27, 2016, at his home on the 46th anniversary of his marriage to Linda.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, he was a son of the late Kenneth Frederick Brown and the late Ann Lynch Brown. James was a Christian and he is at peace with The Lord. He was a United States Army veteran having served during the Vietnam War. James loved his family; was retired, and enjoyed working in his yard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Brown McCorkle.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Linda Zipperer Brown; one daughter, Jamie Dominy and her husband, Bruce; one son, James 'Jim' Edwin Brown, Jr. and his wife, Rachael; six grandchildren, Hailey Dominy, Hunter Dominy, Ashlynn Brown, Isabelle Brown, Devyn Tibbitts and Zane Douglas; four brothers, Ken Brown, Jr., Thomas Brown and his wife, Elaine, Robert Brown and Richard Brown and his wife, Maryann, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Thursday at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service, with military honors, will be held at 10 o'clock Friday morning at the graveside, Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
