James Michael 'Mike' Bishop, 54, of Savannah, Georgia, died unexpectedly Sunday afternoon, March 25, 2018, at his home.
Born in Fort Belvoir, Virginia, he was a son of Patricia Wallis Bishop and the late Major Joseph A. Bishop, U. S. Army. Mike was a 1981 graduate of Woodward Academy in College Park, Georgia, and attended Georgia State University. He was a former manager for National Tire Warehouse (NTW) and later worked in residential construction. Mike liked cars, racing motorcycles, and anything else with wheels. He enjoyed football and particularly University of Georgia football. Mike loved his family, his friends, and would help anyone.
Survivors include his mother, Patricia Wallis Bishop; his sister, Linda Cramer and her husband, Jeff; his nephew and nieces, J. Wallis Cramer, Kimberly Cramer and Michelle Cramer; his aunt, Johnnie Brown; his uncle, Dr. William Kilgore; his great-aunt, Sue Stephenson, and his cousin, Barnes Walker.
The family will receive friends from 12 until 1 o'clock Thursday afternoon at Dean Forest Baptist Church ' 1524 Dean Forest Road in Garden City.
The funeral service will be held at 1 o'clock Thursday afternoon in Dean Forest Baptist Church conducted by The Reverend Guy Boyd. Interment will be in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
