James Clarence 'Jim' Beagle, Sr., 89, of Savannah, Georgia and widower of Mildred Rogers Beagle, died Friday evening, July 1, 2016, at Habersham House.
Born in Elberton, Georgia, he was a son of the late George W. Beagle and the late Fanida Turman Beagle. Mr. Beagle was a member of Savannah Christian Church. He was a World War II veteran having served in the Merchant Marines aboard the USS Heermann. Mr. Beagle retired from Union Camp Corporation as a maintenance supervisor.
Surviving are one daughter, Sandra Duffield Helton and her husband, Jay; two sons, Robert Earl 'Bob' Duffield and his wife, Sarah, and James Clarence 'Jimmy' Beagle, Jr. and his wife, Chellie; seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Tuesday evening at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning at the graveside, Rogers Baptist Church Cemetery near Collins.
