James Dudley Bailey, 90, of Savannah, Georgia and widower of Delaine Driggers Bailey, died Wednesday morning, December 11, 2019, at Savannah Square.



Born in Lynn County, Texas, he was a son of the late Charles Bailey and the late Mary Clark Bailey. Mr. Bailey was a longtime member of Amazing Grace Baptist Church on Ogeechee Road where he was a former church treasurer. He was a United States Army veteran having served honorably in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Bailey was a retired plumber and a 65 year member of the Local Union 188 ' Plumbers, Pipefitters, HVAC Journeymen & Apprentices. He enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling.



In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Charles 'Charlie' Bailey and John Bailey; his sisters; his brothers, and his good friend, Betty Franklin.



Survivors include his son, James A. Bailey and his longtime partner, Alaine Daniel; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Green and her husband, Michael, and Matthew Bailey and his special friend, Elizabeth 'Liz' Dostal; two great-grandchildren, Ava Green and Vivian Green; his sister-in-law of seventy years, Barbara Driggers; nieces; nephews, and his special friend, Jeanette Gause.



The family will receive friends from 3 until 5 o'clock Sunday afternoon at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.



The funeral service, with military honors, will be held at 12 noon Monday at the graveside, Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, conducted by the Reverend George Barren.
