Jacquelyn 'Lynn' Ervin Thompson, 87, of Savannah, Georgia and widow of Clyde Maxwell Thompson, Jr., died Sunday morning, October 31, 2021, at her home with her family at her side.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Robert Ervin and the late Margaret Wells Ervin Stephens. Mrs. Thompson was a longtime member of Grace United Methodist Church. She studied music at the University of Georgia. Mrs. Thompson retired as an electroencephalographic (EEG) technician after more than 40 years with Memorial University Medical Center. In her younger years she enjoyed riding horses and archery. Mrs. Thompson was passionate about music, especially playing the piano and the organ, and crocheting. Her greatest love was spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Clyde Maxwell Thompson, Jr.
Surviving are her son, Clyde Maxwell 'Mac' Thompson III and his wife, Angie; her daughter, Edith Wells Thompson; her granddaughters, Aubrey Rachael Thompson and Kirby Ashtin Thompson, and one great-granddaughter, Paison 'Paisey' Cail Thompson.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 until 12 noon Thursday, November 11, 2021, at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be at 12 noon Thursday, November 11, 2021, in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by the Reverend Cathy Green. Interment will be private.
