Jack Leon Sanders, 76, of Savannah, Georgia and husband of Maxine Payne Sanders, died Wednesday afternoon, October 15, 2014, at Azalealand Nursing Home surrounded by his family.
Born in Hartsville, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Claude Elden Sanders and the late May Emaline Cagle Sanders. Jack was of the Methodist faith. He retired 42 years of service as a welder for Union Camp Corporation.
Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Maxine Payne Sanders; five daughters, Susan Martin and her husband, Bill, Judy Mack and her husband, Charles, Jan Perry and her husband, Bruce, Valerie Stone and her husband, Don, and Rebecca Meehan and her husband, Mark; one step-son, Gary White and his wife, Cathy: eleven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Tuesday at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Michael C. Williams. Interment will be in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
