Jack Washington Drane, 90, of Savannah, Georgia and husband of the late Julia Jeannette Morris Drane, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday morning, July 31, 2020, at his home in Fleming Island, Florida, surrounded by his family.
Born in Frankfort, Kentucky, he lived in Savannah, Georgia, and had many fond memories of growing up on Isle of Hope.
He was the son of the late Louis Edwin Drane, Sr. & Clifford Jane Washington Drane.
He was preceded in death by his three brothers and his sister, Louis Edwin Drane, Elizabeth 'Betty' Drane Dasher, Robert Gallatan Drane, and Thomas Beverly Drane.
Mr. Drane was a charter member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church.
A retired railroad conductor after 50 years of service, he began his career with the Atlantic Coastline, spending his last 5 years with Amtrak.
Jack was a devoted husband of 65 years to his late wife, Jeannette, and is survived by his two daughters, Angela Drane Galletta and her husband, Nick, of Fleming Island, Florida, and Debra Drane Kinder, of Bridgewater, Virginia; five grandchildren, Christopher Galletta and his wife, Jessica, Anne Crosby and her husband, Billy, Mandy Leeth and her husband, Tim, Marsha Sykes, and her husband, Shane, and Jack Galletta and his wife, Caren; sixteen great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 2nd from 2:00pm-4:00pm at Gamble Funeral Service in Savannah, Georgia, followed immediately by a memorial service celebrating the life of Jack, conducted by the Reverend Dr. Drew Corbett.
