SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - James Joseph "Joe" Green, Sr., 71, of Savannah, Georgia, husband of Mary Jeane Alderman Green, died Wednesday evening, October 21, 2009, at Hospice Savannah.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, he was a son of the late James C. Green and the late Mary Ann Brown Green. Joe was a member of Windsor Forest Baptist Church. He was a retired commercial and residential master builder. Joe customarily built commercial buildings and props for movies. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran. Joe enjoyed golf and the thing he loved most was spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving are his wife of ten years, Mary Jeane Alderman Green of Savannah, Georgia; three daughters, Donna Marie Green Smith (Kenneth) of Ellabell, Georgia, Kim Green Adams (Danny) of Nevils, Georgia, and Melissa Janine Wilson Scott (Don) of Rincon, Georgia; three sons, James Joseph "Joey" Green, Jr. of Keller, Georgia, Curtis R. Green of Nevils, Georgia, and Steven C. Wilson II (Angel) of Savannah, Georgia; twelve grandchildren, Cody, Ashley, Dusty, Donna, Sherrie, Brandon, Shane, Shelby, Abigail, Trey, Austin and Jolie; eight great-grandchildren, Aiden, Skyler, Kaitlyn, Robbie, Jacob, Megan, Nicole and Gale; one sister, Beth Holland of Rincon, Georgia; three brothers, Jack Green (Joann), Mike Green (Chris) and Johnny Green, all of Savannah, Georgia, and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the church after the service.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Saturday morning in Windsor Forest Baptist Church conducted by The Reverend Dr. Douglas R. McCart and The Reverend Leonard Small. Interment will be private.
