SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Mary Isabelle Harper Fields, 80, of Savannah, Georgia, widow of Arthur William Fields, Sr., died Thursday, evening, July 2, 2009, at Hospice Savannah.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Bernie Harper and the late Mary VonWaldner Harper. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church and was a homemaker. Mary was married to her late husband, Arthur Fields, for fifty years. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Buzzy Harper.
Surviving are three daughters, Margie Waters of Black Creek, Georgia, Shari Boyn and her husband, David, of Richmond Hill, Georgia, and Bonnie Malone and her husband, Jim, of Dripping Springs, Texas; two sons, Billy Fields and John Fields, both of Savannah, Georgia; two sisters, Elise Monte and her husband, Pete, of Tampa, Florida, and Francis Wheeler and her husband, David, of Ozark, Alabama; one brother, Sonny Harper and his wife, Linda, of Savannah, Georgia; ten grandchildren, Tony Mock and his wife, Jessie, Andy Mock and his wife, Amy, Chris Harrel and his wife, Bridget, Jeremy Stenmark and his wife, Katie, all of Savannah, Georgia, Sean Stenmark and his wife, Misty, of Rincon, Georgia, David Boyn of Richmond Hill, Georgia, and Matthew, Jimmy, Patrick, and Jason Malone, all of Dripping Springs, Texas; two step-granddaughters, Dena Sauls and her husband, Jason, of Pembroke, Georgia, Shanna Good and her husband, Jon, of Ellabell, Georgia ; eleven great-grandchildren; four step great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 3 until 5 o'clock Sunday afternoon at Gamble Funeral Service, 410 Stephenson Avenue, with the rosary service being held at 5 o'clock in the chapel.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 o'clock Monday morning in St. James Catholic Church conducted by The Reverend Mark J. Ross and The Reverend Joseph A. Smith. Interment will be in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
