Inez Strickland Latimer Hook, 94, of Savannah, Georgia and widow of Frank Pierce Latimer and Preston Hook, died Thursday afternoon, March 27, 2014, at Hospice Savannah.
Born in Douglas, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late L. Return Strickland and the late Lydia Minix Strickland. Mrs. Hook was a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist. She was a retired clerk for the U. S. Government. Mrs. Hook enjoyed the independence of living in her own home until the time of her death.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Frank P. Latimer, and her six sisters and brothers.
Surviving are two sons, Robert S. 'Steve' Latimer and his wife, Della, of Savannah and Rick Latimer and his wife, Pat, of Jacksonville, Florida; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 3:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 3:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Craig E. O'Brien. A private burial service will be held on Monday in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
