Hugo Randolph 'Randy' Carter, Jr., 68, of Midway, Georgia and husband of Anna 'Trudie' Douglas Carter, died Friday morning, December 27, 2013, at Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville, Georgia.
Born in Scotia, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Hugo Randolph Carter, Sr. and the late Ruth Adelle Johnston Carter. Randy was a member of Unity Baptist Church. He was a former owner and operator of A-1 Wrecker Service and Payless Auto Sales. Randy was a member of Isle of Wight Country Club. He loved fishing, especially taking the children fishing, and working in his shop and yard.
Surviving are his wife, Anna 'Trudie' Douglas Carter of Midway, Georgia; one daughter, Randi Nichole Carter Tran and her husband, Brendan, of Okinawa, Japan; one son, Hugo Randolph Carter III of Savannah, Georgia; one step-daughter, Sarah Sapp Chriswell and her husband, James 'Bubba', of Savannah, Georgia; one step-son, Ronald 'Ronnie' Sapp of Savannah, Georgia; one sister, Pamela Ruth Carter Brammer of Savannah, Georgia; three grandchildren, Lily Sapp, Haley Carter and Tia Carter, and one aunt, Dot Carter Goethe and her husband, Robert, of Edmonton, Alberta Canada.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Monday at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue, Savannah.
The funeral service will be held at 7 o'clock Monday evening in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Joe Goddard. Interment will be at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in Lawtonville Cemetery near Estill, South Carolina.
