Hilda Hardy Bashlor

Hilda Hallows Hardy Bashlor, 92, of Savannah, Georgia, died Saturday afternoon, November 18, 2017, at Westview Nursing and Rehabilitation.



Born on August 16, 1925, in Manchester, England, she was a daughter of the late Walter Hallows and the late Alice Lloyd Hallows. Hilda was a former member of Savannah Christian Church (Compassion Christian Church) and First Assembly of God. She retired as Treasurer and Manager for the Chatham County School Employees Federal Credit Union. Hilda was a former Executive Board member, Secretary and Treasurer of the Credit Union Board of Directors. She was a former President, Vice President and Treasurer for several years for the Coastal Empire Chapter of Credit Unions and also served on the Board of the Georgia Manager Association. Hilda was a member and former Past Matron of Laurel Chapter #51, Order of the Eastern Star, and a Past District Grand Deputy for the Worthy Grand Matron of the State of Georgia, Order of the Eastern Star.



In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, James Byrd Hardy, Jr. and Ralph Morris Bashlor, Sr., and four brothers, Walter Hallows, Vernon Hallows, James Hallows and Lionel Hallows.



Surviving are two sons, James Byrd 'Buddy' Hardy III and his wife, Kay, and Vernon Walter Hardy and his wife, Miriam; three grandchildren, Heather H. Shell, Allison H. Cordero and her husband, Jimmy, and Mason Hallows Hardy; four great-grandchildren, Staten Gregory Shell, Sutton Gray Shell, Ella Katherine 'Ellakate' Cordero and Easton Hardy Cordero; two brothers, Eric Hallows and Leslie Hallows, and several nieces and nephews.



The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Monday evening at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.



The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
