GUYTON, GEORGIA - Henrietta (Dona) Hightower Jackson, 77, of Guyton, Georgia, loving wife of James Watson Jackson, died Monday evening, August 30, 2010, at Candler Hospital.
Born in Claxton, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late George M. Hightower and the late Alvira Sarah Glisson Hightower. Mrs. Jackson was a member of Living Faith Church and was retired from The Noritake Company after eighteen years of service. She loved to cook for her family and especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Jackson ministered to others through her cooking and enjoyed cooking for church functions and delivering meals to those in need. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Dennis Dewain Jackson and six siblings.
Surviving are her husband of sixty two years, James Watson Jackson, of Guyton, Georgia; three sons, James E. Jackson and his wife Catherine, of Guyton, Georgia, Michael E. Jackson, Sr. and his wife Jean, of Springfield, Georgia, William G. Jackson and his wife Carolyn, of Guyton, Georgia; her daughter in-law, Sandi Jackson, of Guyton, Georgia; one brother, Charles M. Hightower, Sr. and his wife Dee, of Rome, Georgia; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Thursday evening at Gamble Funeral Service, 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 10 o'clock Friday morning at Living Faith Church, 3789 Noel C. Conaway Road, Guyton, conducted by The Reverend Sean Faircloth and The Reverend Gordon B. Dukes. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
