Dorothy Helen Bennett Savanich, 83, of Savannah, Georgia and wife of Hue Anthony Savanich, died Wednesday afternoon, April 1, 2020, at Landmark Hospital of Savannah with her family at her side.
Born in Red Ash, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Bennett and the late Lucille Lillian Clifton Bennett. Helen was of the Baptist faith. She was a retired accountant with the Department of the Army. Helen loved spending time with her family and enjoyed accounting and sewing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Autumn Lee Rahn; a grandson, Robert Wayne Callaway, Jr.; three sisters, Jeannett Hutto, Marjorie Brown and Eleanor Gordon, and two brothers, Thomas Bennett and Frank Bennett.
Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Hue Anthony Savanich; three daughters, Glenda Rahn and her husband, Milton, Shirley Woodard, and Angela Marie Harshaw; two sons, Robert W. Callaway, Sr. and his wife, Ann, and William 'Will' Anthony Savanich; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson, and a sister, Betty Lou Bennett.
With concern for the safety and health of our family and friends, a private funeral service will be held at the graveside in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
