Helen Elizabeth Spencer Henzke, 95, of Savannah, Georgia and widow of Deacon Leonard John Henzke, died Wednesday morning, December 26, 2012, at Spanish Oaks Retreat.



Born in Kansas City, Kansas, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Spencer and the late Arminta Sloan Spencer. Helen was a devout Catholic and a faithful member of St. James Catholic Church. She was a homemaker who enjoyed playing duplicate Bridge and the piano.



Surviving are three daughters, Patricia J. Goodday and her husband, Robert, of Savannah, Georgia, Mary Ellen Houghton and her husband, John, of St. Lake City, Utah, and Kathleen Brandon and her husband, Kevin, of Savannah, Georgia; one son, Leonard John Henzke, Jr. and his wife, Annette, of Fairfax, Virginia; eight grandchildren, Leonard Henzke III and his wife, Nicole, Maria Rogers and her husband, Michael, Holly Edwards and her husband, James, David Houghton, Benjamin Rockwell, Sarah Anderson and her husband, Garrett, Zak Rockwell and Spencer Rockwell; nine great-grandchildren, Jack Henzke, Clara Henzke, Allison Rogers, Jonathan Rogers, Helena Rogers, Sam Edwards, Evelyn Edwards, Ethan Edwards and Avery Anderson, and one sister, Ruth Ripley of Kansas City, Kansas.



The Rosary service will be held at 6 o'clock Friday evening, December 28, 2012, in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service with the family receiving friends afterwards until 8 o'clock.



The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 o'clock Saturday morning, December 29, 2012, at St. James Catholic Church conducted by Father David A. Koetter. Interment will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Lafayette, California.
