Harry Willis

d. July 21, 2020

Harry Willis, 74, of Savannah, Georgia entered into eternal glory on July 21, 2020 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah. Born on May 16, 1946, he was a son of the late Jess Willis and the late Grace Willis Smith. Of this union, he was the youngest of five children. He was also predeceased by his siblings, Walter Willis (Sonny boy), Grace Seward (Lou), MaryAnn and his late wife, Geraldine Pierce.

Harry was raised in Atlantic Highlands, NJ, where he often shared fond memories of hunting and fishing. He joined the US ARMY in 1966. ??Upon completion of his service to our country, he married the love of his life, Jennifer Stafford Willis. Added to this union were David Willis, Jolyn Bright, and the birth of Lucretia Willis Hall.?? Harry started his career in Law Enforcement in 1974 and then retired in 1994. He was proud of his commitment to peace keeping. He moved to Savannah, Georgia in 2010 where he never met a stranger. Everyone that met him, realized that they just encountered one of a kind. He had a community of friends and adopted family that loved him dearly. Harry was always smiling, full of life and was a true problem-solver. You could call him anytime for anything and never feel like you imposed. He gave the best, and most sound advice. He was generous, loving and refused to give up on reconciliation. He was a truly logical thinker and always was available to 'shoot the breeze'.

Harry's last day was a good day. He was happy, lively and joyful and surrounded by those who genuinely cared about him. He knew he was loved and leaves a legacy of love, peace and comfort.

He is survived by one sister Gene Willis, 83 of Tinton Falls, N.J., daughters: Lucretia Willis Hall (Raphael), and Jolyn Bright (Warren), son David Willis (Natalie), grandchildren: Harrison Willis-Hall, Taja Willis-Bolton, Jennifer Willis-Johnson, Nicole Hill, Jamarr Willis, Tyrone Willis, Davon Willis, Trayvon Willis, great grand-children and a host of nieces, nephews relatives and friends.
