Harry Stephen Lowe, 71, of Savannah died Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at Select Specialty Hospital with Jeany at his side after complications from open heart surgery.?? He was born on January 25, 1950 (a true Aquarius), in Savannah, to the late Henry D. Lowe and Lavada New Blitch.



He is survived by his wife, Virginia 'Jeany' Klug Lowe, his sister, Paulette L. Davis, many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.?? He and Jeany would have celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary on Saturday, June 19th.



Harry served in the Navy during the Vietnam War on the USS William V. Pratt, a guided missile frigate with an Honorable Discharge on January 16, 1976.



Harry was co-owner of Fountain Marine Center for many years and then turned his career to the health insurance industry.?? He worked with WellPoint and eventually retired from BenefitMall in 2015.



Harry joined the Savannah Sport Fishing Club in 1985 and was a life-long advocate for conservation and the sport fishing community.?? He served multiple terms on the Board of the Savannah Sport Fishing Club as well as the Georgia Coastal Conservation Association.?? He released his first Blue Marlin on June 16, 1990 while aboard the boat 'Red Heads'.?? He and his friend, Ricky Friedenberg, established the SSFC's 'James Lynah Perpetual Trophy'. Saltwater was in his blood and he has finally 'gone fishing'. Tight lines my sweetheart.?? He was a member of the Savannah Yacht Club and the Club Savannah (a private club of life-long and wonderful friends).



Visitation will be held Friday, June 18th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Gamble Funeral Service, 410 Stephenson Avenue.



Remembrances may be sent to the Savannah Sport Fishing Club, Trout Unlimited, or the Humane Society for Greater Savannah.
