SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Harriet Virginia Burke Boyer, 76, of Savannah, Georgia, wife of Robert Joseph Boyer, died Thursday morning, June 16, 2011, at Hospice Savannah.
Born in Savannah, Georgia October 13, 1934, she was a daughter of the late David Milton Burke, Jr. and the late Bertha Glisson Burke. She was a 1952 graduate of Savannah High School and attended Savannah Vocational in1960. Mrs. Boyer was a book keeper for Liberty Distributing Company for twenty five years which later became United Distributors where she retired December 31, 1998 after working for them thirteen years. She was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for the past fifty years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Richard A. Burke, Sr., and a daughter, Deborah Boyer McAllister.
Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Robert J. Boyer of Savannah, Georgia; daughter, Diane B. Sullivan, (Kevin) of Savannah, Georgia; three grandchildren, P. Scott Boyer, (Robin),  Lindsay P. Collins and Heather McAllister; two great granddaughters, Caitlyn R. Collins and Madyson S. Collins; one sister, Brenda Horton of Rincon, Georgia and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Monday evening at Gamble Funeral Service, 410 Stephenson Avenue, Savannah with the Rosary service being held at 7 o'clock in the chapel.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church conducted by The Reverend Jeremiah J. McCarthy and The Reverend Adam J. Kasela. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
