SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Harold Francis Barker, 85, of Savannah, Georgia, widower of Jeannette Gloria Ferraro Barker, died Wednesday morning, April 4, 2012, at Spanish Oaks Hospice.
Born in Hoopeston, Illinois, he was a son of the late James C. Barker and the late Anna Flint Barker. Mr. Barker was a communicant of the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. He was a retired area delivery truck driver for Savannah Linen Corporation and an avid golfer. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, D. L. "Pete" Barker and Del E. Barker.
Surviving are his brother, Judge Robert E. Barker and his wife, Hazel; eight nieces and nephews, Greg D. Barker, Sr. and his wife, Terry, Barbara Ann Hargrove and her husband, Allen, Judge Michael H. Barker and his wife, Christy, Anne Barker, Richard Barker, James R. Barker, Mary Reiser and Tony Allan Barker.
The Christian Wake Service will be held at 6 o'clock Thursday evening in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue, with the family receiving friends afterwards until 8 o'clock.
The funeral service will be held at 12 noon Friday in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Patrick S. O'Brien. Interment will be in Bonaventure Cemetery.
