Hallie 'Hal' Albert Nettles, Jr., 63, of Savannah, Georgia, died Thursday evening, October 6, 2016, at Wellstar Douglas Hospital in Douglasville.
Born in Walterboro, South Carolina, he was a son of Ellen Carson Nettles and the late Hallie Albert Nettles, Sr. Hal was of the Baptist faith. He worked with Georgia Pacific for 10 years and then later retired as the maintenance supervisor for Georgia Regional Hospital.
Surviving are one daughter, Haley L. Cook and her husband, Mark; his mother, Ellen Carson Nettles; three grandchildren, Katlyn, Hunter and Kendall; his friend, Marsha Brigdon; four sisters, Cynthia A. Spiva, Nancy E. Mizzell and her husband, Robert, Connie J. Solomon and her husband, Richard, and Necold Edge and her husband, Robert; two brothers, Marcus W. Nettles and his wife, Cindy, and Duncan Nettles and his wife, Trudy; a number of nieces and nephews, and a number of great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service. Interment will be private.
