Gussie Weisberg Whittier, 84, of Savannah, Georgia died Wednesday morning, July 29, 2015, at The Suites at Station Exchange in Richmond Hill.
Born in Aiken, South Carolina, she was a daughter of the late David Weisberg and the late Dora Center Weisberg. Gussie was a member of Congregation Bnai Brith Jacob. She attended the University of South Carolina. Gussie retired as an administrative assistant for the Chatham County Building Inspections Department. She enjoyed playing bridge, making floral arrangements, and painting. Gussie will be remembered by her friends as someone who loved animals, and was the sweetest, kindest, most caring person, who was always smiling.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Cherie Whittier and Denise Lynn Whittier
Surviving are one daughter, Tina Whittier of Richmond Hill, Georgia; one sister, Tillie James of Largo, Florida, and a number of nieces.
The funeral service will be held at 10 o'clock Friday morning at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by Rabbi Avigdor Slatus.
