Gregory 'Greg' Alfred Vaughn, 71, of Savannah, Georgia and husband of Janice 'Jan' Margaret Dukes Vaughn, died Tuesday evening, May 4, 2021, at his home.
Born in Oak Park, Georgia, he was a son of the late Alfred Vaughn and the late Mary Evelyn Fountain Vaughn. Greg was a United States Navy veteran where he was a ship electrician. After his service to our country, he was a heavy equipment assembler for Diamond Manufacturing at the ports. Greg retired as an office machine technician for Sinclair Business Machines after 25 years of service. He enjoyed UGA football, exploring waterfalls and scenic vistas. Greg enjoyed spending time with his family, including his 'beautiful, genius grandchildren.'
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Bryan Vaughn.
Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Janice 'Jan' Margaret Dukes Vaughn; one daughter, Michelle Mendez and her husband, T.J.; two sons, David Gantt and his wife, Allison, and Brian Gantt and his wife, Min-Jung; seven grandchildren, Andrew, Avery, Carter, Everette, Theo, Isabella, and Grayson; one sister, Judy Lloyd, and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:30 Friday, May 7, 2021, at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.
