Gregory Portman, 74, of Savannah, GA, passed away on Saturday, June 10th, 2023.
Greg was born on December 3, 1948 to Shirley and Nathan Portman in Savannah, GA.
Greg was predeceased by his parents, sister Pamela Jo Spikler and wife Sara Portman. He is survived by his niece Jennifer Teyf and Nephew in law, Roman Teyf, Niece Kathryn Lashin and Nephew in Law, Paul Lashin, Step daughter Bridgett Witt and husband Morgan and their daughters Sienna and McKenzie. In addition to numerous surviving Portman cousins, Greg amassed lifelong friends that he held near and dear to his heart.
To know Greg was to love Greg. His quiet strength, strong character and love for his family and dogs were truly like no other.
A true Savannah icon, Greg spent his life in the city he loved the most - selling his treasures to a countless fan base that appreciated his eye for quirky finds from all over the world. Whether it’s a life sized T-Rex statue or an armoire from the 18th century - Greg had an eye that was held in the highest regard in the antique community.
A simple man with strong hands. Greg loved to fish, loved his marsh and the simplicity of watching the sunset in his backyard. Greg had an unwavering love for his parents and sister and wife.
A Graveside Service will be held 2:00 pm Monday June 12, 2023 at Bonaventure Cemetery with Rabbi Avigdor Slatus officiating.
