SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Lillian Grace Thompson White, 96, of Savannah, Georgia, died Thursday morning, July 29, 2010, at Azalealand Nursing Home.
Born in Talking Rock, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Frank Thompson and the late Sally Young Thompson. Mrs. White was a very devoted Christian and member of Cokesbury United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Marie Wall Sunday School Class and the Esther Circle. She was a wonderful mother who loved gardening and cooking.
Surviving are three daughters, Ann Grady and her husband, Dr. Bill Grady, of Savannah, Georgia, Sue Braswell and her husband, Robert, of Guyton, Georgia, and Sharron Odom and her husband, Dr. Lawrence "Larry" Odom, of Savannah, Georgia; one son, The Reverend A. Michael White and his wife, Joyce, of Cheraw, South Carolina; one sister, Lucille Giddens of Albany, Georgia; eight grandchildren, Jamie Nelson, Karen Loving, Kim Grimes, Traci Albanna, Jennifer Gammon, Dr. Neil Odom, Paul White and David White, and several great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Monday evening at Gamble Funeral Service, 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend A. Michael White, The Reverend James W. Giddens, The Reverend Terry A. Wilson and The Reverend David W. White. Interment will be in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
