Grace Carol Waterlander (Schaap), 84, of Savannah, Georgia, and widow of MSgt Jack T. Waterlander, United States Air Force (Ret.) to whom she was married for 56 years, died Saturday afternoon, December 26, 2020, at Memorial University Medical Center.
Born in Comstock, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Dena Schaap. Grace was a member of the Church of Christ. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved spending time with friends playing word games, jigsaw puzzles and card games.
Surviving are her three sons, Kenneth J Waterlander and wife Cynthia of Goose Creek, SC, Ronald J Waterlander and wife Debra of Savannah, GA, and Steven J Waterlander and wife Ann of Ladson, SC; eight grandchildren, Tracy Waterlander Knight and husband Kenneth, Daniel Waterlander and wife Lindsey, Andrew Waterlander and wife Lori, Kristy Waterlander, Kevin Waterlander and wife Micah, Brian Waterlander and wife Jamie, Ben Williams and Victoria Waterlander; seven great-grandchildren, Lilly Knight, Lacy Knight, James Waterlander, Marshall Waterlander, Archer Waterlander, Elliette Waterlander, and Josephine Waterlander; one brother, John Schaap; one sister, Eleanor Doorn, and sixteen nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 11 to 1 Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, December 30, 2020, in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by Minister Michael Valenzuela. Private entombment will be in Hillcrest Abbey ' West.
