Grace Evans Neidlinger, 90, of Savannah, Georgia, died Wednesday morning, August 19, 2015, at Spanish Oaks Hospice.
Born in Newington, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late James Thomas Evans and the late Walton Pryor Evans. Grace was a member of Wesley Oak United Methodist Church. She earned her Master's degree in Education from Savannah State University. Grace was a history teacher for many years in the Savannah area and later retired from the Savannah Chatham Library System (now Live Oak Public Libraries). She enjoyed reading and traveling around the world with her cousin, the late Carolyn Noonan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Rubye Elisabeth Evans, and a brother, Daniel Evans.
Surviving are one daughter, Lisa N. Parker and her husband, Charlie, of Savannah, Georgia; three sons, Craig N. Neidlinger, Jr. and his wife, Kim, of Sylva, North Carolina, Eric C. Neidlinger and his wife, Suzanne, of Savannah, Georgia, and Philip A. Neidlinger and his wife, Sheri, of Richmond Hill, Georgia; four grandchildren, Erika Anchors and her husband, John, Charles W. Parker, Jr. and his wife, Carolina, Sarah Purvis and Jordan Moore; three great-grandchildren, Ian Chase Anchors, Charity Rain Anchors and Ethan Nathaniel Anchors; one sister, Jean Dibble of Roscommon, Michigan, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 Friday at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 10 Saturday morning in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by The Reverend Andy Vaught. Interment will be at 1 o'clock Saturday afternoon in Union Baptist Church Cemetery ' 1279 Union Church Road near Sylvania.
