Gloria Stein Cohen ' known to all as KELLY ' passed away on July 21, 2021. She was born on Long Island, New York in 1922. Before she married the handsome & charming AJ Cohen Jr., and moved to Savannah in 1950 ' she had an exciting life in New York City:

Starting as a Historic Savannah Tour Guide, she easily segued into Radio & TV; headed up the Symphony Auction; was a member of the Temple Mickve Israel Sisterhood, and awarded a position on the Advisory Committee on the Arts for the JFK Center for the Performing Arts by(then)President Jimmy Carter. She was an envoy for the Olympic Windsurfing Team from Hong Kong during the '96 Olympic Games, and even got to march in the Opening Ceremonies!
Her greatest achievement was her family, and the life/work partnership she shared with her husband of 64 years. She became the Accessory Buyer for her husband's family stores ' Lady Jane. And taught hundreds of women how to walk the catwalk through her landmark Fashion Shows.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Sanford Stein, who was killed in action in World War II.
A Savannah Legend she is survived by: her three sons, A. J. Cohen III and Kim, of Denver, CO; Sanford Cohen of Asheville, NC, and George and Ruth Cohen of Savannah, GA; one daughter, Julia Cohen of Savannah GA; five grandchildren: Addison Cohen, Alexa and Francesco Michelassi, Chaya Cohen, Laila Cohen and Jared Cohen; four great-grandchildren; her sister, Ruth Rich, and nephew, Adam Rich, both of New York City.
The funeral service will be held at 10 o'clock Monday morning, July 26, 2021, at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by Rabbi Robert W. Haas.
