Gladys Norton Wilkins, 91, of Savannah, Georgia, widow of Charles James Wilkins, Sr., died Thursday morning, November 8, 2012, at her home.
Born in Guyton, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Robert E. Norton and the late Mabel Grovenstein Norton. Mrs. Wilkins was a homemaker. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School Teacher for many years and served as a member of the Women's Missionary Union. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Catherine 'Catie' Wilkins.
Surviving are one daughter, Annette Wilkins Holliday and her husband, Michael 'Doc', of Savannah, Georgia; one son, Charles 'Charlie' J. Wilkins, Jr. and his wife, Carmen, of Savannah, Georgia; four grandchildren, Rebecca Holliday Avallone and her husband, Frankie, Michael Holliday, Charles J. 'Tre\'' Wilkins III and his wife, Jenny, and Tasha Wilkins Stenzel and her husband, Chad, and four great-grandchildren, Jackson Stenzel, Julia Stenzel, Charles 'Chip' J. Wilkins IV, and Isabella 'Izzy' Wilkins.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 o\'clock Sunday afternoon at Gamble Funeral Service -??410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o\'clock Monday morning at Immanuel Baptist Church conducted by The Reverend Tony Pagliarullo.?? Interment will be in Hillcrest Abbey - East.
