George W. Bargeron of Ellabell, Georgia, and husband of Cynthia Flora Gillespie Bargeron, went to be with his Lord and Savior at the age of 94 surrounded by his loving family at his home, Thursday evening, December 30, 2021.



Born in Toombs County, Georgia, he was a son of the late William Washington Bargeron and the late Zonie NeeSmith Mosley. George was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII where he served in the Pacific Theater in the Philippines. After he left the military, he met and married Cynthia on February 14, 1962. George worked for many years at Union Camp as a crew leader of their paper production operation and retired after 42 years of loyal service. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church in Pembroke. In his retirement years he enjoyed being with family and vegetable gardening. Always looking forward to spring when he was able to plant his garden with his dog, Mitzi.



In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Edward Sterling Bargeron, Charlie Bargeron and other relatives.



Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Cynthia Flora Gillespie Bargeron; children, Jerry Bargeron (Christy), Gail B. Morris (Dennis), eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild on the way; a sister, Geraldine Fox, and his beloved dog, Mitzi.



The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 o'clock Tuesday morning, January 4, 2022, at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.



The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning, January 4, 2022, in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by Pastor Jonathan Spencer. Interment will be at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, January 4, 2022, in Lyons City Cemetery.
