AVENTURA, FLORIDA - Genevieve \"Jean\" Pomerantz Kanter, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, died at her home in Aventura, Florida at the age of 88.
Jean grew up in New York City and graduated from Brooklyn College. Shortly afterward she met the love of her life, Dr Walter Kanter, a native of Savannah. Jean and Walter settled in Savannah where she raised three children and assisted Walter in his busy medical practice. She was a member of the BB Jacob Synagogue and the JEA. Jean will be remembered for her encouragement and support, and her lifelong devotion to her family and friends.
Jean is survived by her three children, Ms Iris Kanter of Aventura, Florida, Dr Richard Kanter of San Francisco, California, and Dr Steven Kanter of Miami, Florida, and by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 10 o'clock Tuesday morning at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by Rabbi Avigdor Slatus.
