SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Gene Pruett Sims, 77, of Savannah, Georgia and wife of Roy Jesse Sims, died Thursday morning, June 14, 2012, at Hospice Savannah.
Born in St. Louis, Missouri she was a daughter of the late Abe Pruett and the late June Weber Pruett Crawford. Mrs. Sims was a member of Central Church of Christ and was a retired administrative assistant at Armstrong State College. She loved spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband of fifty-nine years, Roy Jesse Sims of Savannah, Georgia; two daughters, Kymberly S. Norton of Savannah, Georgia and Kyndall S. Joyner and her husband, Melvin, of Midway, Georgia; four sons, Gregg Sims of Savannah, Georgia, Grant Sims and his wife, Stefanie, of Greenville, South Carolina, Tran Q. Minh and his wife, Penny, of Atlanta, Georgia, and Than Le and his wife, Van, of Savannah, Georgia; thirteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and one sister, Sally Beineke and her husband, Bruce, of St. Louis, Missouri.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Friday evening at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 1 o'clock Saturday afternoon in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by Clay Johnson and Jason Gamble. Entombment will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
