Gary Philip Clifton,

Gary Philip Clifton, Sr., 70, of Guyton, Georgia and husband of Carolyn Maxine Howard Clifton, died Wednesday evening, June 8, 2016, at Candler Hospital.



Born February 6, 1946 in London, England, he was a son of the late Thomas William Clifton and the late Kitty Sylvia Ruth Clifton. Mr. Clifton was a United States Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War as an MP. He was retired from Rockwell Collins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Clifton.



Survivors include his wife of over 50 years, Carolyn M. Clifton; son, Philip Clifton of Martinsburg, West Virginia; daughter, Melissa Clifton and her fianc?? Jeffrey Brill of Stephens City, Virginia; brothers, Stuart Clifton of California, and Grant Clifton of West Sussex, England; a grandson, Connor Clifton; and several nieces and nephews.



The funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at 2 o\'clock in the Chapel of Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue, with The Reverend Dr. Samuel W. Watkins officiating. Interment will be private.
