Franklin 'Frank' Delano Carter, 87, of Savannah, Georgia, and widower of Gladys Elizabeth 'Libby' Mock Carter, entered his Heavenly home Tuesday afternoon, October 19, 2021, at Hospice Savannah.
Born in Bryan County, Georgia, Frank worked as a manager for Comet Oil for over 50 years, as well as an equipment operator for Chatham County. Frank was a fan of WWE wrestling and westerns, especially Gunsmoke and Cheyenne. He was a strong man who cared for his wife, Libby 'Baby', for several years before she passed. A very sharp man, he was skilled at doing calculations in his head and well-practiced in frugality. He took pride in his home, keeping his yard well-maintained and the house clean. Frank was a quiet man, and a great father to his four girls. He loved seeing his daughters together talking and laughing and genuinely enjoyed spending time with his family. His grandchildren brought him special joy, as well as his grand dog, Aldean.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Linda Faye Carter.
Survivors include his daughters, Brenda Miller (Patrick), Vicky Dubberly (Mike), Sandra White (Robert), and Tammy Cutlip; seven grandchildren, Kristie Sanders (Steven), Nicole Dubberly, Michael Dubberly, Trevor White (Raechel), Sophia White, Berkley Cutlip and Zachary Cutlip; and a great-grandson, Dalton Sanders.
The family would especially like to thank the caregivers at Hospice Savannah for their care and compassion.
A private funeral service will be held Monday afternoon, at the graveside, Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
