Fran Lesser Sussman

Fran Sussman, 90, of Savannah, Georgia and wife of the late Seymour Sussman passed away Friday April 26 at Hospice Savannah.

Born February 4th,1934 in Savannah, she was the daughter of the late Ann and Sol Lesser. Fran graduated from Savannah High School and enjoyed a wonderful childhood in Savannah and Tybee. Fran and Seymour had an amazing 52 years together. They were avid world travelers and loved the theater, music and restaurants. After raising their children, Fran joined Seymour at her father’s business, Globe Shoe Company. Her pride and passion for the store was immense and she worked until her death. Fran was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother who always put her family first. Her generosity was unmatched.

Survivors include her children Amy Sussman and John Sussman (Danielle); grandchildren Sophie Hamrick (Shaw) and Claire Sussman; sister and best friend Gail Wexler and nieces Lynn Alexander (Tom) and Jan Wexler.

The funeral service will take place at 1:30 pm Tuesday April 30th at the Bonaventure Cemetery graveside conducted by Rabbi Robert W Haas.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Congregation Mickve Israel or Hospice Savannah.
