SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Florence Esther Orloff Perling, 85, of Savannah, Georgia, widow of Jacob Herman Perling, died Saturday morning, June 11, 2011, at her home under the care of Odyssey Healthcare Hospice.
Born in New York, she was a daughter of the late Jack Orloff and the late Rose Baum Orloff. Mrs. Perling was a member of Congregation Bnai Brith Jacob and was a lifetime Hadassah member. She was a member of the League of Women Voters in Savannah and successful business women, owning her own business for many years. Mrs. Perling was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. In addition to her husband and parents she is preceded in death by her brother, Leon Orloff.
Surviving are two daughters, Vicki Perling Parker of Eatonton, Georgia, Robin Perling of Savannah, Georgia; two grandchildren, Rebecca Brantley and her husband, Travis, of Sandersville, Georgia, Zachary Parker of Gainesville, Georgia; one great grandson, Nicholas Brantley of Sandersville, Georgia; one sister, Polly Nager and her husband, George, of New York; her brother in-law, David Perling and his wife, Peggy, of Atlanta, Georgia and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by Rabbi Avigdor Slatus.
