Florence E. Dick, 93, of Savannah passed away Saturday morning, April 17, 2021.
She was predeceased by her husband, Warren H. Dick, in 2015 after 65 years of marriage.
Born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, she was a daughter of the late Waldemar and Hazel (Steele) Berg. She graduated from Hastings (NY) High School, received her Bachelors degree from Wheaton College (IL) in 1947, and her Masters degree from Hofstra University (NY) in 1965. She was an elementary school teacher for 19 years in the Half Hollow Hills School District on Long Island, New York, after raising her three children.
After retirement they moved to Saint Augustine, Fl where they enjoyed living for over 30 years.
Surviving are one daughter, Karen Mantho and her husband, Hank, of Savannah, Georgia; two sons, Randall Dick and his wife, Diane, of Willow Street, Pennsylvania, and Paul Dick and his wife, Teresa, of Indianapolis, Indiana; seven grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Thursday morning, April 22, 2021, at the graveside, Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by the Reverend Steve Curran.
While she will be missed greatly, the family takes great comfort knowing she is with Jesus. ' We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:8
