Fern Elizabeth Clifton Baker, 91, of Savannah, Georgia and formerly of Harlingen, Texas, and widow of Billie Baker, died Thursday morning, December 13, 2012, at Hospice Savannah.
Born in Olathe, Colorado, she was a daughter of the late Henry Clay Clifton and the late Madura McCormick Clifton. She grew up in St. Louis, Missouri and moved to Harlingen, Texas when she was 4. Mrs. Baker was a member of Harlingen United Methodist Church. She was a retired United States Postal Service clerk.
Surviving are her step-son, Billy Baker of Sevierville, Tennessee, and many nieces and nephews including Linda Inglett and her husband, Wyman.
The family will receive friends from 3 until 5 o'clock Sunday afternoon at Gamble Funeral Service ' 410 Stephenson Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 1 o'clock Monday afternoon at the graveside, Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by The Reverend Gene Roberts.
