Evelyn C. Dudley Broussard, 81, of Savannah, Georgia and widow of TSgt Morris Lani Broussard, U. S. Air Force (Ret.), died Wednesday morning, March 14, 2018, in the comfort of her home and surrounded by her family.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Jack W. Dudley and the late Edith Jones. Evelyn was a member of Calvary Baptist Temple where she was a member of the Sweet Spirits Sunday School Class. In her younger years she taught GA's and 1st grade Sunday school at Calvary. Evelyn was a member of the Savannah Jaycees and the Ladies Auxiliary Club. She enjoyed shopping, traveling and living life to its fullest. Most of all, she enjoyed having fun with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother who loved taking care of her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband of 58 years and her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Thomas 'Tommy' Lani Broussard, and a brother, Richard Dudley.
Surviving are her daughter, Lynda Jones and her husband, Glenn; two grandchildren, Meghan Newell and her husband, Daniel, and Dr. Blake Jones; two sisters, Barbara Shuman and her husband, Mike, and Trisha Stafford and her husband, Elton; one sister-in-law, Joann Dudley; one brother-in-law, Richard Broussard, and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon, March 18, 2018, at Calvary Baptist Temple ' 4625 Waters Avenue.
The funeral service will be held at 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon, March 18, 2018, in Calvary Baptist Temple conducted by Pastor Kenny Grant. Interment will be at 10 o'clock Monday morning, March 19, 2018, in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park ' West.
