Eunice Waye Evans

d. February 20, 2018

Eunice Waye Evans passed peacefully through the Veil on Tuesday, February 20th at 1:37 a.m. She died at home from complications due to lymphoma in the loving company of her two daughters and her husband.

True to her name'Eunice means 'happy warrior''she lived tenaciously devoted to her Savior, Jesus Christ, whom she met as a little girl growing up in Metter, GA. Except for a brief sojourn exploring the world in her early twenties, she never strayed from His side. Through all the embattled times of her life, she clung to faith and to her belief in the goodness of the Lord. She was always so grateful that He had taken her back (though no one who knew her believed she could have strayed very far!).

Eunice loved teaching Christian truth and always saw this as her primary calling which she pursued with a passion, teaching in Sunday School, home Bible studies and public gatherings. For several years, she and her husband Steve taught seminars on emotional healing in Savannah and surrounding areas, travelling as far as Northern Ireland with the message of grace. Yet, she also loved children and ran a day care out of her home for twenty years, leading many little ones and their parents to faith.

Born in 1939 in Metter, GA, Eunice grew up on the family farm there until their move to Savannah when she was in her early teens. Her marriage to Scotty Langham brought three beloved children into her life and carried her to Winter Park, Florida and Columbia, South Carolina before ending with divorce. She came back to Savannah to begin a new life.

Eunice is survived by her husband, The Rev. Steve Evans; three children: Sherri Causby, Clinton Scott Langham III, and Julie Taylor; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a brother and sister.

Memorial gifts may be made to Healing Streams Ministry, 4625 Sussex Place, Savannah, GA 31405.

There will be a private, family only burial service in the Connor Family Cemetery.
