Eugene Louis 'Lou' Freeman, 101, of Savannah, Georgia and husband of Bess Hirsch Freeman, died Friday evening, October 5, 2012, at Azalealand Nursing Home and under the care of Hospice Savannah.
Born in Atlanta, Georgia, he was a son of the late Charles Freeman and the late Temi Goldberg Freeman. Mr. Freeman was a member of Congregation Agudath Achim. He was a United States Navy veteran having served aboard the USS Indiana during World War II.?? Mr. Freeman worked as a salesman for Zep Manufacturing in Atlanta, Georgia for many years before retiring in 1961. He was a life member of the Masonic Lodge in Atlanta, Georgia.
He is survived by his wife of 59 ?? years, Bess 'Bessie' Freeman of Savannah, Georgia;??his dedicated sister-in-law, Sonya H. Diamond of Savannah, Georgia,??and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 12 noon Sunday at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by Rabbi Ruven Barkan.
