SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Eugene Francis Bond, 92, of Savannah, Georgia, widower of Dorothy Lee Watts Bond, died Wednesday evening, December 8, 2010, at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Born in Washington, DC, he was a son of the late Wilbert Henry Bond and the late Emma Elizabeth Seiders Bond. Mr. Bond was a United States Coast Guard veteran having served during World War II. He was a retired commercial printer and had owned and operated a book binding company. Mr. Bond was an avid guitar player and shared his love of music by teaching others and playing at local senior facilities. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, his parents, and a daughter, Darlene Bond Schumer. Mr. Bond was a member of St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Lori Page and her husband, Terry, of Richmond Hill, Georgia; one son, Eugene R. Bond of Ocklawaha, Florida; son-in-law, Terry Schumer of Ellabell, Georgia; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon, December 19, 2010, at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church conducted by The Reverend William M. Brock.
