Esta A. Asher

SAVANNAH, GEORGIA - Esta A. Asher, 92, of Savannah, Georgia, widow of Sidney Asher, died Thursday afternoon, April 14, 2011, at Memorial University Medical Center.
Born in Savannah, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Aaron Applebaum and the late Leah Applebaum. Mrs. Asher was a member of Congregation Bnai Brith Jacob. She retired from Asher's Department Store where she was the office manager. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Asher was preceded in death by a daughter, Sheila Asher.
Surviving are one son, Alan Asher and his wife, Rita, of Savannah, Georgia; two grandchildren, Shannon Javetz and her husband, Scott, and Zachary Asher and his wife, Michelle, all of Savannah; three great grandchildren, Reese and Matthew Javetz and Sadie Asher; one brother, Abram Applebaum of Savannah, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the graveside, Bonaventure Cemetery, conducted by Rabbi Avigdor Slatus.
