Eric James Mercer, 34, of Pooler, Georgia, died Saturday, January 24, 2015, in Pooler.
Born on October 1, 1980, in Lake Wales, Florida, Eric served his country in the Air National Guard for 14 years at the rank of TSgt, including a tour in Afghanistan. He was a career firefighter for the City of Savannah for the past 12 years.
Eric is survived by his wife, Sarah Ann Mercer; his parents, James and Leslie Mercer; his sister, Meagan Elizabeth (Will) Gibson; his brother, Daniel Scott (Ashley) Mercer; and seven nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 10 until 12 noon Wednesday morning at Garden City United Methodist Church ' 62 Varnedoe Avenue in Garden City.
The funeral service will be held at 12 noon Wednesday in Garden City United Methodist Church conducted by The Reverend Ashley Randall. Interment will be private.
